Ahh. I needed a good book from this genre so badly today! Thank you Ms. Milan. Very well written, executed, and I gotta admit, I sorta love Hugo Marshall. *off to see what's next with the Duke's sons*
One of the finest romance novellas I've read. Starts off slowly, with the slimy duke and his henchman plotting to get rid of the heroine who was ruined and discarded by the duke. But the henchman has a heart hidden beneath his armour, and a chink in the armour just big enough for the heroine's grit ...
This was so good. What a fantastic setup for a series. I love the working man stories like this and Milan is just a star at writing them. What lovely chemistry between these two characters, the story is a simple one but just sets up who these people are and who they want to be so well. I'm excited f...
Courtney Milan is in a league of her own. I can't say enough about how refreshing her writing in this genre is.I'm constantly annoyed by contrived misunderstandings. They simply don't happen in Milan's work. If there's dishonesty of any kind, it plays out organically rather than in a gimmicky fashio...
I don't normally read novellas but I made an exception because I have enjoyed other books by this author. I loved the writing. For such a short book, it really packed a punch. The letters they wrote each other added some great humor. And the sex scene was really well done Highly recommend if you are...

Honestly I find it so hard, it's like my mind wants to make it shorter just cos it is a short story.Anyway, this story takes place 20 years before the next book that will s...
Loved it!!! Just when I thought I was getting burned out (ney, sick and tired!) of Euro/Regency historical romances, I pick up this Courtney Milan novella and realize my problem might have been something else. I was just bored. But Courtney Milan infuses such flavor into her writing I couldn't stop ...
The plot was way too complex for a short story. Beautifully written, as usual for Courtney Milan, but what would have been character growth and evolution in a full-length novel came across as out-of-character behavior and lazy shortcuts in this novella.
