Oh Neil, why hast thou forsaken me in my hour (or 5) of need? I chose this book completely on the grounds that a) it was Neil Gaiman speaking his beautiful mind on topics weird and wonderful and b) said mind was being honored with a full ensemble of actors and their respective sound effects to boot ...

The Graveyard Book, set in the graveyard in “Old Town” (somewhere in England) is a story about Bod, an unusual boy living in an unusual place and under truly unusual circumstances. When tragedy strikes his family, Bod is adopted by the denizens of the cemetery and guarded by a man known only as Sila...

I've not been disappointed by any book I've read by Neil Gaiman and this one is no exception. The full-cast production I bought from Audible made it even better. I've decided that all Gaiman books should be read with the ears. The Graveyard book has several stories covering Nobody Owens as he gro...

My first Neil Gaiman book; I bought it on impulse when I was on holiday back in June and saved it for Halloween week. I totally get what the fuss is about concerning Mr. Gaiman's writing. The book might as well have been a movie playing in my head: every scene, every setting was as if he'd drawn ...

I've really been slacking off on my brothers and my bubby reads. This was his October pick, and I was determined to finish it and get back on track. It felt like I had been reading this book for ages. It had been four days in reality. I really love most Neil Gaiman's adult novels and I want to love ...

I'm not really sure how to review this and it took me two days to mark this a "read" just because I was trying to think of a worthy review. No such luck; this is the best I've got. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. I did like it a lot. As I read the first few pages I was wondering why ever...

The Graveyard Book is a composite novel made up of loosely connected chapters that tell the story of Nobody Owens, a living boy who is being raised by ghosts in a graveyard. The story starts when Nobody is a toddler and ends when he is around fourteen years old. My favorite thing about Neil Gaiman...

Gaiman never disappoints. The Graveyard Book in particular lends itself to his ability to embrace the dark and the creepy without glorifying them. In his signature fashion, Gaiman manages to bring out a rich palette of color in Bod Owens' world of grey and mist.

After 7 years, I finished this book. I originally got a copy when going to a reading in Seattle, when Gaiman was promoting the release of The Graveyard Book (though, honestly, 14 year-old me was more excited for the Coraline film preview.) I don't know why it took me so long to finish this- I got to...

Neil Gaiman is one of the great storytellers of our time, and The Graveyard Book is one of the best coming-of-age stories I have read. More of a collection of linked short stories than a novel, it recounts the events of the childhood of Nobody Owens, a living child raised by ghosts in a graveyard af...
