Oh hell I fell asleep while reading. Again. But wait! Holy shitting mushrooms I rated a Susan Elizabeth Phillips book one star. ONE STAR! Painful. It was so painful. The Great Escape was supposed to be the book that makes up for the epic fail that was Call Me Irresistible. And the sad thing is that at...

*Buddy read with Anzu~ You can read her review here.*3.8/5 starsAfter the mega-disappointment Call Me Irresistible was, I was prepared for this one to be at least as bad, if not worse. And really, with a hero named "Panda", how great could it possibly be? I was spot-on for about the first half or so...

There's a fine line between discovering your assertive self and becoming a bitch. I didn't always like Lucy and her bratty, manipulative ways and, as so many reviewers have already stated, I didn't see that slow, delicious build in tension and sizzle that I've loved in Susan Elizabeth Phillips' earl...

I love all SEP's books, but the characters and the books in general keep getting better and better!I didn't expect Lucy to get so... of the normal path, really. She started as a tough teen who'd do anything to keep her sister healthy and happy then ended a very responsible adult. In this book she go...

I'm glad we finally got Lucy's story, and her character development throughout the book was very real. There's a lot going on in this book - Phillips includes more than her usual subplots, but they are intertwined and resolved well. Detailed review to come.

I couldn't seem to put my thoughts into words, so I was reading the other reviews for this book while I decided and I gotta say...... I am so surprised at the mediocre and negative reviews!!! I absolutely LOVED this book and I'm not letting anyone convince me otherwise. I waited such a long time f...
