Cracking story and an interesting departure for Stephen King. He's written about prison before (Shawshank) but this was written at speed as a serial. Enjoyed it very much and even thought I have watched the film, STILL surprised by the ending.

The BasicsPaul Edgecombe is the lead guard on the Green Mile, the corridor at Cold Mountain Penitentiary that houses those on death row. It's an unforgiving and thankless job at its best. I'm not great at expressing myself when it comes to something I really love, and this book/story falls under that category. What I will say is that I will never get over this book, and I enjoyed the movie just as much. I think the casting was perfect. John Coffee was perfect. The mouse was perfect.....

I'd already seen the film, despite not being a Tom Hanks fan (so sue me), so I thought I knew the story.Well.As is so often the case, the book is ...

This book made me really sad that Michael Clark Duncan is dead. The movie was a much smoother story, probably because the book was originally issued in serial format, so there's a bit of repetition each time a new section starts. I enjoyed reading this even though I knew what happened, and, I won't ...

Ugh I’m in such a bad mood right now, guys, and bad moods are not conducive to writing reviews. Certainly not good reviews. So right up front, I’m just warning you this is going to be a shitty review. I promised myself I would write at least a review per day until I was caught up, and dammit, that’s...
