Scandalous. Absurd. Eye-rollingly melodramatic. Tele-novela goodness. Rating: 3 of 5 OHMYGAHs

3.5I really enjoyed these guys together but the last quarter of the book was a bit too melodramatic for me. It was totally like watching one of the crazier episodes of Dallas!

It read like a gay Texas soap opera - very entertaining! Some minor details I didn't appreciate too much and some editing regarding consistency would have been helpful, but all in all a very enjoyable read.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS BOOK, OH MY GOD THIS IS DEFINITELY A FAVORITE BOOK OF MINE. JACK AND RILEY FOREVER! Riley and Jack! The Heart of Texas was one of the first m/m books I read. It's also one of my favorites. When I first started reading the book, I wasn't really sure if I would like it or not. ...

Very good over-the-top m/m romance reminiscent of the tv show Dallas, complete with oil wells, villains, lies, a marriage-of-convenience, and more!

I feel like I have to justify my poor rating of this book because so many people ostensibly loved it. Well, I didn't. I didn't love it A LOT. I think it's safe to say I even hated it. Unrealistic premise aside (because, really, if all premises were realistic we'd have no literature) the plot was jus...

This is a soap opera in book form. The many plot twists (lies and betrayal! family secrets! dark pasts!) should have made this book interesting but halfway through I started getting really bored. I think there was just too much going on, too many plot threads, that there was little room for much cha...
