Have you ever been contacted by a person from a timeshare company by phone or while you were shopping? Did they offer you 3 free days at some resort? Been there , done that. Don't accept their gift. You will almost always lose. Timeshares are not an Investment for the buyer. It's a great investment for the stock holders of the resort. They will have locked you into a contract that you cannot break. Even if you die the timeshare will pass on to your heirs. Are maintenance fees what you wish to leave your kids? Those contracts actually have eternal life.I am not trying to get people not to purchase a Timeshare but to inform you about the pitfalls and to make you aware of what to expect when you arrive at one. I'm sure that all presentation are not the same but you can expect variations. One thing that I would like to warn people about is the length of the presentation. If they tell you it will only last an hour, don't believe them. Would you attend a presentation if someone told you up front that it would last 4 hours? I don't think so. Practice saying "NO." You should know in advance that you're professional and He/She has been trained in the art and science of selling. Have you been trained to say no?I wish you luck.
