10/15 : I've enjoyed the first few chapters even though there are no gorillas yet. So far I've had a good intro to the history of 20th century Uganda and basic social situations there as the author arrives and has his peace corps orientation.
I saw Hanson at Powell's and really enjoyed his talk. He was warm, charismatic and funny. He's a better speaker than he is a writer, I think. The book is interesting but it drags in many places.
