Well, I'm not really sure what to say about this one. It was not what I was expecting. The first part of the book is a really quirky fun steampunk themed story; then about halfway through it becomes a straight out bodice ripper. No joke.Don't get me wrong, I sometimes enjoy bodice rippers myself....

Based on Abigail's advice, I started with the anthology Burning Up. Meljean's contribution, my first experience in the world of the Horde, was immediately riveting. The Iron Duke itself is a meaty, satisfying book that I couldn't put down. Brook does a phenomenal job developing both the world and...

I have really mixed feelings about this book. I need to ponder a bit before I write my review.

Well... hell! Don't be fool by the titty man on the cover this book has a deep plot, really good world building, deep characters and one heck of a story. There was a lot of this... And THIS... (you know, investigative talk and chemistry between two characters) And then a lot of this as we...

This. Book. Yes, there is a naked chest on the cover, but it's not like that at all! Ok, it's a little like that, but the story and characters are so much more!First, the steampunk is out of this world awesome. The concept is so unique and interesting, it had me on the edge of my seat to the very en...

I'd been doing a little too much "eat your vegetables" reading, which means I hadn't been eager to read because it felt like more homework, which means I just wasn't reading for pleasure. So I sought out some escapist literature, and I can't fault this book for trying to give me that. But I was stil...

A straight average of everything I liked and everything I didn't like about this book, would be 4 stars. However, the part I didn't like is weighted so heavily that I'm only just barely giving it 2. I'm actually rounding it up to 2 because of the nightmares I've had for the last couple of nights. Th...

This was an awesome steampunk novel set in one of the most interesting worlds I've read in a while. The heroine is a no-nonsense, kick-butt police inspector. The hero is a pirate who is very goal-oriented and a little on the possessive side. And you just have to love the supporting characters! Scars...
