Disclaimer: I was given a free copy by the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review. I am not a huge H.G. Wells fan. I’m just not. I know I should read more of his work, but well. Anyway, I must admit that if Mondello does anymore live cast version of ...

This book took foreeeeeeeeever to get through. I know its supposedly a classic, but it definitely isn't a book that left an overwhelmingly favorable impression in my mind. Urgh. He's definitely done better work.

Creepy and wondrous strange, HG Wells gives us another unreliable narrator telling a tale of the fantastic and another story that leads us to question our own decisions and mores even as we enjoy the tale. More than a century old, this story explores the ethics of "medical enhancement" via a tale of...

This is the first H.G Wells book I have ever read, though I'm not sure why. I've always wanted to, just another thing I never got around to. It has made me want to read more from the same author though. The story is very well written and I find it amazing, especially considering how long ago it was ...

Before much reading time had passed I was talking to the Spouse about how much more plausible and realistic the story was than I thought it was going to be. And also, his structure is good, how he brings the reader in, how ...

Fascinating less for the story (which is entertainingly horrifying and must have been quite scandalous in its day) and more for the pseudoscientific tone, including the disclaimers and apologies of the narrator. This might be usefully compared to Atwood's Oryx and Crake as a cautionary tale about ho...

It seems I'm really not into H.G. Wells. I'll read Tono Bungay just to have it read, then I think I'm done with the author.

I have long had an urge to read this book, as H.G. Wells is known as the king of science-fiction, and I've never read anything by him before. And what a pleasant surprise. I chose this particular book among his prestigious works, because I have just finished reading Frankenstein, and have heard some...
