This second installment wasn't as good as the first. However, it was a good story. I just found the mystery a little weak. I am looking forward to the third installment.

I read this in two days because I could not put it down. I am finding this series very engaging, primarily because of the main character, Dr. Ruth Galloway, an overweight, 40ish archaeologist and forensic bone specialist.

I found it slightly irritating at first, but settled into a satisfying, quick, follow-up read to the first book in the series. An interestingly different set of core characters, and an unusual British location add a different angle to typical mystery fare.

Fantastic characters make up for a rather ridiculous plot. The messy, complicated lives of the main protagonists are realistic without being depressing! Great read.
