Very moving story with excellent plot twists. The writing feels a little weak sometimes, but the author's knowledge about and love for Afghanistan shine through. I can see why many people love this book. It's the kind of universal human drama that touches the heart.

The book was slow. The last few chapters were good, but the beginning and middle could have been.cut back to keep my interest. The morals and the history were the best o arts of the book.

I had to read this for a class at school and I completely enjoyed it. It is very different from what i usually read, but it had me feeling so many different emotions at once; sadness, shock, disgust, and so much more. I cried many times during this book, but none the less loved it .
