This book fits Magic Realism, Chilling Children and probably Witches. Reading this one now. More like a magical world where wizards would take care of moles problem with charms. Sound like fun. Oh my goodness. This story is great. Jennifer Strange is 15 and going on 16. She manages a mag...

The Last Dragonslayer was a fun read. Jasper Fforde created an interesting world and a strong, female protagonist, Jennifer Strange. I wasn’t a fan of how she was manipulated at the end of the book, but she was very aware. Jennifer knew going into the last portion of the book, that she was being man...

I really enjoyed the book: it was fun and entertaining, and just... Good-natured, I guess? It felt like a very optimistic and idealistic book to me, even with the darker elements in it, and I felt like I enjoyed the world around me more while reading it.

I've heard many good things about Jasper Fforde, so I finally picked this up from the library.Jennifer Strange is an indentured servant living in an alternate version of the United Kingdom - the Ununited Kingdom, that is, where she manages what's left of the country's sorcerers. Their magic greatly ...

I am a Jasper Fforde novice. I think that maybe one time a long time ago I tried to read his nursery rhyme crime book and got distracted. Ooh shiny. I've not read his most well-known series, which starts with The Eyre Affair, although I think I would like it. But one of my F&B friends is in ...

Was mixed about it at first--good fun, but nothing special--then about 100 pages in (after the thing that you expect to happen happens) it gets rollicking.

Jennifer Strange is a very unique young lady. She is a teen, even has those silly teen crushes on people who are the fantasy version of Justin Bieber, but she also is the managing director de facto of a magic service house. And she is supposed to slay a dragon. O...
