Jacob Marlowe is the last living werewolf. For two hundred years he has wandered the world, amassing a fortune and murdering humans every full moon. Now, as the last of his kind, he is a target for WOCOP (World Organisation for the Control of Occult Phenomenon). Initially, he is willing to be hun...
More like 2.5 stars, and mainly because I thought the book was well written. But it was a real struggle to get through for me. I had pretty much had to force myself to finish this because I hate quitting books, especially when they're not technically terrible. The language and style was exceptional,...
The prose in this novel just enthralled me and blew me away.By no means a paranormal romance, or a light YA style urban fantasy read. Instead we have a story that manages to be grim, stark, and poetic without contradicting itself.
I would have rated this five stars but Talulu (or whatever her name is I already forget oops) happened and it turned south but then the last section happened and it went north again so I don't know. four point five stars i suppose.THE ENDING BURNED ME TO PIECES IT HURTAnd there was a surprise I rath...
The premise of this book was good, but there was way too much werewolf ennui in the first half and a lot of repetition in the second half. I liked that this was a more traditional style werewolf story, rather than an urban fantasy spin. And yet, this book fell flat...
I don't know why but I really didn't like this book. I just was so irritated by the main character and his overactive sex drive, his disdain for women, and his ennui with life as a werewolf. I had to put it down. Sorry, just couldn't go on...
