The plot was pretty good. I do have one nitpick, Dominica would not have practiced Voudon [Voodoo], because she is not of Haitian descent. She would have practiced Santeria. I have only a slight knowledge of Voudon, and I don't know that much about Santeria, so I'm going to google-fu it to see if th...
So this is the 2nd time around this book, 1st review tho. I really enjoyed. Actually i loved it. I love the almost flawless smooth writing style. I love the plot, the hints of romance. I love the gory stuff, the heartache and in the end the justice.
There are a new series of gruesome murders in the city and Anita, on retainer with the Spook Squad, has been called out to investigate some of the most blood saturated, brutal, violent crimes she’s ever had the displeasure to see.And she sees a flesh-eating zombie – whether out of control or wilfull...
2ND read this time by audiobook - I also have the paperbackOkay, first DO NOT tell an evil voodoo priestess that you're going to kill her the first chance you get. Just do it, don't warn her.Second, DO NOT mouth off to everyone to the point where they feel the need to beat the shit out of you. You...
A great second novel in this series. There's about 20 of them so I have a while to go lol. But the suspense was good, the plot was great, and of course the witty banter and dialogue are always fantastic. :)

Why do the authors always introduce the worst and biggest of big bads in their first book(s)? It makes that much more difficult to gather and keep up the momentum later on especially when writing a long series. I'm now expecting the inevitable unravelling of the animator magic.I liked her in the Gui...
I liked this one a lot more than the first one. I think it was that I found it easier to to follow because I knew a lot of the characters from the first one. And I knew what to expect of Anita as a character. It was a bit slow at times but it got better as the mystery developed and it all came toget...
