This is an entertaining read with a really fantastic sense of time and place. It's delightfully atmospheric and wickedly funny, particularly in Irving's treatment of his main character. I found this story easily digestible and highly enjoyable.
I don't usually like lyrical texts that are not actual poems. No, wait, I don't usually like poems...er, I don't like when the how things are said is more important than what is said. But I liked it here. At least the parts I could understand. Kindle dictionary is there for a reason.
