In the city state of Camorr, a small group known as the Gentlemen Bastards work and plot and scheme to lure the valuables from gullible nobles. Their cons are always elaborate and intricate, and done in such a way that their victims are too embarrassed to tell anyone about it. Yet most of their peer...

This book violates some kind of law of reading. I mean, it was interminably long and overwritten, and yet, I had to finish it.Actually, it reminds me of fan fiction, in particular a certain fannish thing written by me (and at this time, still in progress). The comparison doesn't imply that The Lies ...

The Lies of Locke Lamora is full of thieving, swearing and double crossing. Throw in a bit of gangsta thug life and you know before you even start that your going to love this book. This was a pretty amazing book. This is much like an epic book, It would be too long to be a movie but it would be a great TV series. Can't wait to read the next one. This book only took forever to read because it seems to be a family attractor. They bug the shit out of me when I want to settle in a...

Lots of profanity and violence, quite dark -- Lynch keeps raising the stakes. When you think things can't get any worse, it gets worse. I love Locke and how daring and brilliant and loyal he is.

A great book. First of all, the premise was terrific. I've read the fantasy take on a crime caper novel before (the first Mistborn book) but this one was done way better. The characters were morally grey, as professional thieves would be, and the story was gritty, as a story about an underworld gang...

Reread this book for the third time. Once to read it. Second time to set myself up for Red Skies. And now, the third time because of the Republic of Thieves. I keep forgetting how good this book is! Even despite knowing the tricks and plots beforehand, I'm always shaking my head at how clever these ...

I'd honestly expected more. I can see why people like the book - I really can. Sometimes I enjoyed the characters, sometimes I enjoyed Lynch's writing, sometimes I liked reading about Locke's antics. I just.....most of the book irritated me. The world that Lynch built was awesome, but his way of...
