A story for middle school kids so adventurous that it can be compared to Harry Potter. That's right, I said Harry Potter. I couldn't help but be reminded of that amazing series while reading this book. There were three kids on a quest to save the world, two guys and a girl. The girl was highly logic...

This book was adorable. I don't know why I've waited so long to read the Percy Jackson books. Nearly everyone I know who has read them has loved them - or at least thought they were cute. Finally, on a whim, I picked it up and, while I don't know if I love it, I definitely found it worth the read an...

Actual score 3.50 Maybe I'm coming in as a bandwagon fan, because I've seen both movies before i read any of these books, but I was really surprised on how I was swept up by the book vs the movie. For anyone that doesn't know this series, It follows Perseus "Percy" Jackson, a young boy who finds...

A fantasy about God's and monsters. This is a good one for teenagers. It doesn't have enough grit for an adult, well me, but the story is action-packed and catered to young adults. It is an enjoyable read.

This book is fun. I enjoyed it a lot, and I know that I would have gone nuts over it if I had read it as a ten-year-old instead of as an adult. The author has a wonderful sense of humor. There were several literal laugh-out-loud moments. Percy is a very likable character, and I think a lot of kids c...

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is the first bestselling book in Rick Riordan's phenomenally successful Percy Jackson series - now with a new cover look.Half boy. Half God. ALL Hero.Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I never asked to be the son of a Greek God.I was just a normal kid, goin...

This was entertaining, I suppose. I would have liked to see something a little more creative than making Hades the bad guy - though I called the spoiler pretty quickly, too. This was a fun, easy read and I see why my students like it. I've even picked up the next one, but I don't know if the charm w...

This book took me a reaaaaaally long to finish. But not because it isn't good. But because I'm just not as enthusiastic to read a book that I've watched a film adaptation of. Nonetheless, I still loved it and it was a really really good book. Just another proof that the book is way waaaay better tha...

Chiron looked surprised. “I thought that would be obvious enough. The entrance to the Underworld is in Los Angeles.” As someone who worked in Los Angeles, I can tell you that this is completely accurate. While Harry Potter was spending his summers at the Dursleys, Percy Jackson attended Camp Half-B...
