This one did not really work for me. The story is Christina was raised by a Native American tribe in the North Dakota Black Hills after her mother escaped her father and died of a fever (?? I forget exactly). The tribe called her a lioness because of her bright blue eyes and white hair, she is also ...
This was one really great book which made me laugh a lot.It was funny enjoyable, written very nicely and so much more.Christina is one amazing character, and she never leaves one feel bored. She always had something to say or do. She is amazing, raced by the Dakota Indians. And I must say that I like...
One of my favorite Garwood books. I love her heroines, and Christina Bennett, raised by Native American Indians, is a fish out of water in Regency England. Not that that stops her from taking the city by storm while riding bare-back and finding her fierce Lyon. Some classic LOL moments in this bo...
DNF. I really enjoyed the beginning, but then when the love story kicked in, I lost interest. I just found the plot and the characters silly, contrived and dated. I could tell this was a romance novel written in the 1980s. The hero is extra Alpha-y with an especially dated "all women are liars an...
Fun, typical Julie Garwood - in this case that's a good thing. She's written some great prologues my favorite being the meeting Judith and Frances Catherine when they were little girls in The Secret but this one is right up there. I agree with another reviewer who said that they wished she'd writt...
This is one of my favorite Julie Gardwood's histroicals,Its so hard to choose because I love almost all of them . She writes so magnificently and passionate for this era not its hard not to get goosebumps.I could feel Everything the characters were feeling, the female leads were strong willed and do ...
I re-read this a while ago, so my recall is not fresh. That said, for a very dated bodice ripper, this was not bad. The two protagonists were not exactly great communicators, though. If they'd just bothered to actually talk to each other, there wouldn't have been any story at all.
I loved Garwood's medieval books and thought I might like this, but English girl raised by Indians and then returned to England. I thought it would be very predictable. Well, it wasn't and I loved it. I loved how Lyon would just shake his head at the stuff she said but just be enchanted with her....
I got through the prologue (which I doubt could be written like that today) but the armed robbers' attack in the middle of the drawing room was just too far over the top. Put the book into my DNF pile at that point.
