WINNER OF THE NATIONAL BOOK CRITICS CIRCLE AWARDWINNER OF THE PEN/FAULKNER AWARDNEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERIn 1864, Union general William Tecumseh Sherman marched his sixty thousand troops through Georgia to the sea, and then up into the Carolinas.
