An enjoyable enough character study, but with an ending that is almost too pat and too twee to stand. I really found the grim orphanage scenes almost unbearable. I just don’t want to believe that kind of thing could happen in such a prolonged and systemic manner.

I loved this book about two people, who come from totally opposite upbringings, meet through newspaper dating. This book was so heartwarming to me. I loved the characters. I loved the setting. I loved the writing. I can't wait to read more by this author. This book to me was reminiscent of the movie...
