My first Agatha Christie novel ever. Delightful, quaint and clever with some interesting undercurrents.

Who has not heard of Agatha Christie and/or Miss Marple? This was the first book I read by Agatha on Miss Marple. I absolutely loved it.Although I expected Miss Marple to be the leading role, that was not the case in this first book. I thought we would read from her perspective. Nonetheless, this bo...

I suspected Lawrence and Anne right from the beginning. It was just in the last couple of chapters I got confused and suspected Mr. Clement too. Also, it was pretty obvious that Mrs. Lestrange was Lettice's mother. All in all, I enjoyed the book, cuz I like Mrs. Marple.

I started reading Agatha Christie when I was a teenager and read most of the books out of order and in Spanish. I figured I owed it to myself to make sure I read them in the language they were written and in the order she wrote them so I could understand a progression of the detectives. This is one o...

My first Miss Marple novel (and actually the first one Agatha Christie wrote using that character). I enjoyed guessing, second-guessing, third-guessing and then just scratching my head at the end. I have many unanswered questions, which I can live with (I'll have to, won't I?), but I'm still glad ...
