This was my very first venture into the world of Agatha Christie. I decided to read all of her books in the order they were published, instead of starting with the most known ones. The Mysterious Affair at Styles introduces recurring characters Mr Hastings and Monsieur Poirot. Mr Hastings is staying ...

This was a good enough book. Basically, I needed a break after The Count of Monte Cristo.Agatha Christie is entertaining, but not particularly deep. Even though murder is generally a psychological crime, she doesn't delve deeply into the human condition. This book had Poirot and Capt. Hastings. Lots...

As always, Agatha Christies' murder mystery is as brilliantly conceived as they are brilliantly unraveled to the reader.

My first Agatha Christie book. Not the best, but kept me going. Can't wait to get to the really good ones.

I keep coming back to this book even though I know the solution to the murder mystery by heart by now. It's not even the story that does it (although it's a solid one), I just think the way it introduces Poirot and Hastings is absolutely charming.

Então o Capitão Hastings chama seu velho amigo Poirot para solucionar o caso.Mas não é...

Choose Your Own Adventure! You are Captain Arthur Hastings, and you are slowly falling in love with a Belgian. The feelings are embarrassing at first; you find the Belgian himself to be quite an embarrassment. But there is just something about him. Could it be his suave, continental sense of humor......
