I’ve heard a lot about the sequel to this book, The Madness Underneath, without realizing it was a sequel, so when I went searching my library to put my name on the hold list, I discovered that this book came first. I don't know what took me so long; it's not like I'm not a fan of Maureen Johnson. I have enjoyed everything I've read by her ...

It started out alright, but the main character quickly started to annoy me. The plot was kind of corny and I just wasn't into it. I won't read any of the sequels.

Fantastic characters, a very authentic-sounding teenage narrator, and a great story. Thoroughly enjoyed, and I hate that the sequel's still two months away.
