This was the first fantasy story I have read in a while and it was a good book to renew my interest in the genre. It was also the first book I've ever read by Neil Gaiman. Ive heard alot about his beautiful prose and writing style and I have to agree. There were times in the book I felt like I was t...

I really enjoyed this book. It was a short, quick read, and it held my attention well. It was a little more bare-bones than I typically like, by which I mean that the author provided only as many details as strictly needed to tell the story at hand. The setting and characters seemed so interesting t...

I certainly had no idea that I was picking up a fantasy novel. That being said, peo...

This is not a children's novel. It is not a YA novel. I'm annoyed that it is marketed as those things, because this is very much a grownups story for all that it tells the tale of a seven year old boy. I think it may be one of the best things Gaiman has written.

Becoming an adult means forgetting a million things, like the fact that those couple of trees in the backyard could easily be an enchanted forest...This book is an ode to childhood. Gaiman will carefully open a little door in your brain and take you to a place with all the familiarities of your earl...

The Ocean at the End of the Lane won several awards the last few years and I decided to give it a read. It left me like most of these awards winning books do, in a entertained, but not excited place. The story itself is easily picked up and proceeds to a satisfying conclusion... and that is basi...
