Montalbano at his best! As he recovers from the shooting in the last book, he is involved in a case in which a young girl is kidnapped. All is not as it seems - and I was able to partly predict what had happened (which is always a shame). Engaging and fun, this is a nice light read.
Like all the Montalbano novels, "The Patience of the Spider" is also filled with lively dialogue, sharply observed descriptions, vibrant characterization and dramatic shifts in tone.
