This Hollywood bad girl wants to grow up…but she may die tryingIf you're a fan of Jackie Collins...if you can't get enough of the latest showbiz scandals...don't miss this sizzling tale of Hollywood's dark side.Hannah Doran was the paparazzi's dream: perfect pedigree (wild child of a charming Hollywood producer and his society wife, who died mysteriously in her prime); perfect friends (entitled movie stars and celebutantes); and perfect fall from grace (convicted of grand theft after a night of glamorous excess). But Hannah is smart, loyal…and, she insists, innocent of the crime that landed her in prison. She's determined to make something of her life. But it's hard to recast herself when everyone has a stake in her old role—her horribly fascinating cellmates, her ruthless father, a female studio exec with much to hide, and a handsome, ambitious photographer. In a town built on image, success is more compelling than redemption. Or truth.A NOTE FROM THE AUTHORWhat Inspired Me To Write The Producer’s Daughterby Lindsay MarcottIn my years of working in the movie business—as a writer, producer, and marketing executive—I’ve been fascinated by the many different types of people who are drawn to Hollywood. Some are attracted by the desire to create, while for others it’s the sizzle and fame, or simply the money. But I’ve always been particularly intrigued by people who’ve grown up in this unique world. Spending your childhood hobnobbing with stars and famous directors is bound to have a significant effect on you later in life. You might use it as a springboard to accomplish great things in your own right, or you can end up crushed by it. This became my inspiration for my lead character, Hannah Doran, a smart and talented girl who’s grown up in the shadow of a famous father. Hannah is in danger of losing herself, until confronting real danger forces her to find her true strength of character.I’ve also been interested by the fact that a hit movie franchise like The Hunger Games or Star Wars is like a bank vault of rare diamonds. It’s something so valuable that someone might be willing to lie, steal, even kill for it. This became the basis of the plot of The Producer’s Daughter—what sets in motion the intrigue that will dramatically change all the characters’ lives.ABOUT THE AUTHORLindsay Marcott has been a screenwriter, script-doctor and producer; she has written for A-list actors and for numerous magazines. Under a different name, she's written clever mysteries (which were developed for TV), women's fiction, and sharp-as-nails social comedies. She lives in Los Angeles with her film executive husband and two wayward cats.
