DNF. Thinking about reading this book made me depressed.
A group of women come together to talk about books and in the meantime find out about live and love, living through children, grandchildren, marriages, love, lust, divorce, childbirth and abortion. The dialogue about the books reflects real bookclub debates. Enjoyable.
I thought the book discussions part felt like a mere plot device to get the women together. Some of the discussions were good, but they were pretty unrelated to the rest of the book. By the end of the book I felt there was too much telling rather than showing. I was also unsatisfied with some of the...
