The best part of the book was how the protagonist dealt with her son; the patience and the love made it a worthwhile read. But other than that, the book was pointless from a romantic point of view.

As with all books by Nicholas Sparks, this one was a really nice, mellow romantic book - just what I needed! It sucked me in right away and by the end had me in tears.
