3.5/5 StarsI listed to this book and absolutely loved the narrator, Gary Farmer. I will be looking into more narrations by him.On the book front, I must admit that the beginning of the book kept me more entranced than the later part of the book. In the later part, I had several incidents where I zon...

Unforgettable, brilliantly written, horrific, hilarious, deeply moving, educational, sad, heart warming and hopeful, The Round House is my favorite book of this year. Erdrich creates characters that become so real to me that I know them like long lost friends. And there are a lot of characters -- ...

Louise Erdrich's NBA-winning novel is a wonderful book on the end of innocence and youth, on Native American culture and relationships with the rest of America, on where justice really does lie and on a couple other similarly important things.Video-review:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBfcSCBHUs4

I don't have a whole lot to say, just that I loved this book. :) It can get pretty intense, though.

Impressive and devastating novel. There's some traumatic subject matter here, but it is not graphic or exploitative. There's a bunch of interesting characters: Joe and his relationships with his parents are well done; his Atticus Finch like dad; his school friends; the local priest; the postmistress...

The lives of an Objibwe family are ripped apart when the mother is brutally raped, and barely survives. Told through the eyes of the 13-year old son, Joe, the family tries to recover and heal, while at the same time, find the man who committed this crime. This was the perfect novel for me. I loved ...

Just solidly meh. As much as I really enjoyed the last 50 or so pages - and while there were certainly interesting things happening, philosophically and socially, in the rest of the book - I just found myself thinking "I've seen this before" for most of the novel. It doesn't say anything new, nor ...
