The Scam: (A Fox and O'Hare Novel) by Janet Evanovich & Lee Goldberg | Summary & Analysis

Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg, presents a fast-paced, globe-spanning story of high-dollar luxury and corruption as Nicolas Fox and Kate O’Hare travel among Southern California, Nevada, Hawaii and Macau to bring down a gambling and money-laundering operation that does much to enable some of the worst criminals in the world. An easy, quick read, the book offers fans more of what they have come to love, and it does so while still being easy for casual readers to pick up and enjoy.

In The Scam, Nicolas Fox and Kate O’Hare, a criminal put to work by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation and the agent assigned to keep him in check as he deploys his talents for his country, investigate the international gambling operations of Evan Trace, whose full-service casinos serve as a means to launder the money made by criminal and terrorist groups. In a series of manipulations that see power dynamics shift wildly, Fox and O’Hare manage to turn Trace into an informant and, along the way, undermine a Hawaiian criminal enterprise. It is a fun novel and a quick read, a decent way to pass a quiet evening.
