This book reminded me alot of the Saving CeeCee Honeycutt book. And I have to say that I liked that book more. I didn't hate this book, but I just didn't connect with any of the people. I did learn some things about bees that I never knew so that is a plus.

The Secret Life Of Bees is probably one of the better books I've read through my life. I saw the film on TV, and decided I had to read the book. It did not disappoint me one bit. It's this amazing book about friendship, family, loyalty, and finding one's place in this world.

Abusive father – checkRunaway teen – checkPoorly portrayed African Americans – checkComing of age – checkFortunately, once you ignored all that, there was some good solid writing and some truly endearing characters. This includes the main ch...

A truly enjoyed this book. A friend of mine lent it to me as she noticed that I was always reading and felt I would enjoy it. She was right. I also now have the movie on DVD. It is very well done and follows the book very closely.

What is great about this book, is that it is a solid story. In that respect it reminded me of one of my all time favorites To kill a mockingbird. You really get an idea of how a fourteen year old girl tries to make sense of a complicated and unjust world. Of how she realizes what are dreams an...
