DNF at 68%.Buddy read with Shandra, who liked it more than I did. ^_^ I think it's time to admit defeat. I haven't picked this up in nearly a month. As much as I love the movie, I can't get down with King's incessant wordiness. I put this down countless times, because I was dying a slow death at his...

4,5 Estrellas!

This books is just so bad omfg! I know many people won't agree with me, but I don't really care ._. there are people who will. I won't say if I recommend it or not because there were so many people on Goodreads who rated with 4/5 stars that it's better I don't recommend it to someone. If someone ask...

As is usually the case, the book is far and away superior to the movie. I read this as a kid but, jeez, the things I forgot! The movie is a cheap knock-off, it almost seems like fan fiction of the book. I'm so creeped out right now I'm not going to be able to write a proper review. Outside my ...

Holy mother of slow descent into madness. The wind outside is howling, no, screaming, and the power has gone out about 5 times tonight. I am SO going to have nightmares tonight. By the way, the movie was a gip. And I like the movie!! The book is SOOOO much scarier. 5 creeptastic stars

"Do I really have any other choice?" Rose shrugged. "Only bad ones, dear. But it's better if you want it. It will make the Turning easier." "Does it hurt? The Turning?" Rose smiled and told the first outright lie. "Not at all." Doctor Sleep - published a very short while ago, making...

I can't believe I just now read this book after years of watching the movie. I don't know why I never read it before. Although, I believe I like the storyline of the movie better, I liked this as well. Jack Nicholson portrayed Jack Torrance perfectly. There were quite a few interesting differences b...

I seem to be reading a lot of books lately that I haven't picked up for decades. The Shining is one of them, and I'm very glad I revisited it. And not just because it's a gripping read that grabs you and refuses to let go from page 1. I was a very literal-minded reader when I was a teen (I still ten...

I re-read this to freshen up my memory for Doctor Sleep. This was just as scary the 3rd time around as it was the first. This book got me into reading again when I was in high school and will always been one of my all-time favorites.
