I don't have much to say about this book. It's trying to be a domestic thriller, hitching itself to the momentum of Gone Girl (which I still haven't read despite it being on my Kindle since last year) and it's enjoyable enough if you have the patience for two fairly unlikeable protagonists and a fai...

I bought The Silent Wife immediately after reading a review on the back that claimed it was better than Gone Girl. I was sorely disappointed. The beginning of the book dragged on forever, and often it seemed as if there were no plot or point to the information I was receiving. And I was receiving qu...

Originally on my book blog! This book is often regarded as similar to Gone Girl. I can see the parallel, but this is beyond Gone Girl in a few different ways. I don’t want to spend this whole review doing a compare and contrast of both books so I’m not going to, but it is important to know that when ...

I would give this book 3 1/2 stars. I like the story but at times I found myself skimming through all the heavily laden detail. I also struggle with how much of the story was told in narrative. I really enjoyed how the book was told from two different perspectives and found A.S.A.'s descriptions to ...

I really enjoyed it & I didn't think it was very Gone Girl. I felt completely at a loss because I understood her feelings. I had a relationship that ended which gave me a similar pause to life. While I didn't go as extreme as she did I did go through a period of denial so it was kind of cool to hear...

This is a very easy book to listen to, and the reader will easily be placed under its spell. When compared to “Gone Girl”, however, one could say that The Silent Wife is also about dysfunctional characters who seem to have no guilty conscience about the things they do, but the characters in this boo...

While this book was only superficially like Gone Girl, I still enjoyed it. It is more of a character study than a psychological thriller. The end was good but did feel rushed. Overall, it is worth your time to read it as long as you don't truly expect another thrill ride like Gone Girl.

This story crawls inside your head and makes itself at home. A worthy read, regardless of your take on marriage or your preference in genre."The Silent Wife" is a dark story about a long term relationship destroyed by complacency and hubris. The takeaway from this is that the most important thing in...

My Rating – 3 StarsWell, as you can see from the summary; Todd cheats and Jodi kills him. I have not read Gone Girl (not yet anyways. It’s on my kindle!) but so far I’m getting the impression that it’s not anything like Gone Girl. This book is definitely not a thriller. It tells you in the beginning ...
