Paul’s gospel of grace is summed up in Romans 7:4: we are dead to the works of the Law of Moses so we may be married to Christ, with the end in view of bringing forth the fruit of righteous behavior to God. We are dead so we may be married, not so God may hold us guiltless no matter what we do.The spiritual "singles" are living in a state of lawlessness. They are not under the Law of Moses, neither are they living according to the will of the living Christ. They are not married to Him. They are Christians in name only, supposing that their acknowledgment of correct doctrine insures their righteousness in God’s sight. They believe in a grace that saves apart from works. This is a misunderstanding of the Christian salvation.
