My only critique of this book is that there wasn't much romance; the novel focused on magic, the Tradition, the characters, and the plot so much that the romantic feelings and experiences of the characters were overshadowed. Fun, lighthearted re-imagining of the fairy tale. Feels slightly more forced than the other books in the Five Hundred Kingdoms series, but also has some very enjoyable characters.
