WARNING! If you read this kids mystery book, you may experience or be exposed to: QUANTAM LEAPS, DEJA VU, WORMHOLES, GRAVITATIONAL WAVES, SPEED OF LIGHT, SUDDEN BURSTS OF GANGAHAM STYLE DANCE MOVES, TEMPORARY MEMORY LOSS, HYPER SPACE, TEMPORARY MEMORY GAIN, MAGIC GIFTS, THE MAGIC HOUR, THE MAGIC WITHIN, A RANDOM NEED TO PLAY CANDY CRUSH, AN ATTRACTION TO STEAMPUNK, AND THE COOLEST IDEA FOR BOOKS FOR KIDS AGE 6 to 11 EVER…

The Sprocketeers: “Great Giza Gonzo”, the first in a spectacular “twins series”, is a wonderfully crafted piece of kids historical fiction, chronicling the escapades of the time-travelling, quirky, nuclear twins, Cooper and Alyx, as their mystical trunk (and the magic within it) hits sand in ancient Egypt. Meanwhile, their curmudgeonly wicked neighbor, Oswald Pennytinker, arrives in a beat up old trunk of his own, attempting to steal the King’s treasures.

Through action, humor and adventure, readers will be introduced to the twins’ eccentric inventor father, Clark, post-punk, fashion savvy mother, Isabella, and our galactic guides and fraternal twins: Cooper and his younger sister (only by 11 seconds but who’s counting?) Alyx!

Hold on tight as the Sprocketeers journey “time after time” through limitless time-traveling missions from present to past to future and beyond in their “magic hour”, time-altering antique chest that’s tucked away in the family attic (shhh…) AKA…”The Box.”

Let the colorful illustrations suck you into the world of the turbulent twins’ and their discovery of the magic gifts the time travel Box from their parents’ attic hold.

When they climb inside The Box, their mission will be revealed.

The duo, along with their loyal “pet” Rivet - an automaton metal spider fashioned like an eight-legged Swiss army knife – trek through time, overcoming historic and futuristic obstacles from the dawn of earth - to dinosaur girth - to doing battle with Martian bands and in this first book, saving the treasures of the Egyptian pyramids.

THE SPROCKETEERS: “Great Giza Gonzo” is the first in the twins series, a high-octane trip through time, fueled by imagination, the magic hour, and riddled with the type of problem solving only this tenacious team of pre-teen twins could provide.

So, power your flux capacitors, button down your hyper loops, fire up your hot tube time machines and get ready to think outside “The Box” with our time traveling twins Cooper and Alyx, “The Sprocketeers”, in their first adventure book Great Gizo Gonzo.

4.0 The Sprocketeers: Great Giza Gonzo
Very cute book. Steampunk meets Indiana Jones type of feel. Illustrations were awesome! Witty story that my son loved. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was due to formatting. There's no discernible paragraphs, which made me feel like I was stumbling to read through the switching back...
