**warning to all for the version with ISBN: 9781849015899* Don't read the introduction!!Great the Introduction of the book spoiled the whole book for me. They tell us exactly what happens and what the end is. Which is a shame, I never saw the movie or read the book and now I don't really feel like r...

I knew the story from the film (first one) but never read the original. It was a very good read, with aspects not even touched on in the movie version

The suburbs are creepy, man.I actually enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. Levin's prose is very simple and the book is quite short (more a novella, really), making it an easy and quick read. Having already seen the movie starring Nicole Kidman, I knew the plot of the book already so I expected not to be surprised or disturbed. Boy, was I wrong! Being female and having felt various degrees of pressure to conform to a more stereotypical and traditional feminine role, this book spoke to th...

Creepy little novella. Story of women being replaced with the "perfect" models of themselves. Successfully made into 2 motion pictures.

Ira Levin has a very atypical writing style - at least in this book. At first I thought I'd been unfortunate enough to find an edition that had been adapted from the screenplay, because the writing was so disjointed/simple at times, but no - this was how Levin intended for it to be written. I really...
