This was a very good, very quick read about the Twits, a nasty old married couple who love to play dirty tricks on each other and be mean to the world in general. It teaches a great lesson: the more negativity and bad thoughts you have and dwell on, the more it will stick with you and make you ugly ...
Oh sweet nostalgia! I remember being read from The Twits as a kid. Roald Dahl truly had an extraordinary mind. A marvellous piece of creepily entertaining craziness.
I vaguely recall rather enjoying this book as a child, but have to admit that it does not pass the test of time. Or rather, I still see what appealled to me as a kid, but it's actually the exact same things that I no longer like about it. It's really gross and full of 'come-uppance', which was total...
This was never one of my favourite Dahl books, but I think I'll have to read it again to justify that. I have loved all his books and want to read them all again.
