Advertising this as a short story is just retarded. The "story" starts at 19% and ends at 57%. It has a beginning, but no middle or end. It's always satisfying to see Hadrian and Royce, but please. This is half a prologue.

A short story providing us with some of the back story for Royce and Hadrian, from their early days together. Funny, yet somewhat cynical, not surprising if you are familiar with Royce's prejudices and Hadrian's naivety.
A fun read about the early years of Royce and Harian. For anyone dithering about whether to read the Riyria series or not, this is a good introduction to the style - easy to read, nothing too complicated, just a good romp. And very funny.
