Probably my favorite Thursday Next book so far. And the end made me appreciate his other series (The Nursery Crimes) which I read before I started this one. Because he's clever and it's all beginning to intertwine.

This one was a bit more up and down for me than the first two in the series, which I absolutely loved. Thursday does a lot of meandering in the Well of Lost Plots and the overall plot of this book doesn't really solidify until the last quarter. However, some of the meanderings and set pieces are h...

Fforde hits it out of the park again. Crazy concepts, lots of fun!

I'll agree with Mark and say that this isn't the strongest in the series, but good fun nonetheless. Jasper Fforde plays well with literary devices, often using them to describe themselves as they appear in the story.

Fforde's first two books in the 'Thursday Next' series took awhile to get started, but the novelty and humor kept me from caring too much. This was the best in the series so far. Set entirely in the BookWorld, this novel really lets rip with the imaginative use of language to bend perception of reality. It has the added advantage that the author can draw on classic characters such as Miss Havisham, Heathcliff and Mrs Tiggly-Winkle, whi...

I seriously just LOVE these books! I really liked the change of scenery for this one, these books are without a doubt one of the best series I have ever read. I can't wait to read the last two in this series and the two in Jasper FForde's Nursery series!! Just another cracking read....

This series is a cross between speculative fiction and mystery. It's a lot of fun but exposition-heavy. It's especially fun if you're a book nerd, since the characters do a lot of leaping in and out of famous works of fiction. The rules and quirks of Fforde's universe are myriad, however, and they ...

Jasper Fforde is always wonderful. In the third Thursday Next novel, a pregnant Thursday has gone into the BookWorld to escape the clutches of the Goliath Corporation. While there she deals with gramasites, rogue JurisFiction agents, and much more. Very enjoyable.
