These books are great to read when you find yourself with nothing to do in the middle of the afternoon. A light and funny read with Snicket's unique writing. Loving the Baudelaire siblings.

Again, fantastically fun and delightfully sarcastic. There are a few things in here that I'm certain my students won't understand, but I laughed at this one enough that it's going in my classroom library anyway--even if only for me to open every once in a while and chuckle.Favorite Quotes:There are...

The Wide Window's the strongest installment of A Series of Unfortunate Events thus far. There's humor:There are two kinds of fears: rational and irrational--or, in simpler terms, fears that make sense and fears that don't. Absolutely hated the guardian in this book and am becoming increasingly annoyed that Mr. Poe will not listen to the children.

It's hard to rate books in a series, especially when the series has thirteen books. In the case of A Series of Unfortunate Events each book, through the third, has been better than its predecessor, but I wouldn't say that book three deserves an extra star over book one. How can I denote its superior...

In this 'chapter' of the story, the Baudelaire orphans are sent to live with a paranoid aunt who lives in a house precariously perched on a cliff over a lake. Naturally, the evil Count Olaf is still after their fortune, and the trepidatious Aunt Josephine is not likely to get her act together to pro...
