I've read better children's stories. The writing feels dry, bland. It definitely feels like something a 12 year old would write. Originally read: July 17-19 2012
This book was actually better than I expected it to be. There were definitely moments where I was rolling my eyes, but I did enjoy it overall, especially for a middle grade book.
The Land of Stories is the world I wanted to be real with all my heart when I was 10. Alright, who do I think I'm kidding, I still do. I was never a girly girl but I've always loved fairytales and that's something I won't outgrow. Colfer's story is fun, whimsical even, while still managing to get acr...
Ever find yourself wishing for a Happily Ever After? What if, what we thought of fantastic stories are more than that!? Conner and Alex are off on a fantastic journey, and they are trying to find their way back home. Now if they could only work through the land of stories without being killed or kid...
This book was just great. It was genius in some aspects actually. Chris puts a lot of sassy humor in this as well! A lot of great characters, sceneries, and plot devices. Just great. I would definitely reread later on especially if they make movies.

I love how characters from my fairy tale books do some other things beside the things that they were able to accomplish in the books. This retelling of many different stories is just amazing. I love how their stories are re-woven...

4.6I do admit the fact that I read this book because it was written by Chris Colfer but I'm glad I did because this was one hell of an adventure. I basically revisited all the fairy tales I've read in my childhood and it was amazing to read something that took me back and left me feeling nostalgic f...
I suppose I also need to begin by saying that I adore Chris Colfer, and so perhaps expected more from this than I ought to have. But there's no rule that being a talented actor and delightful person automatically makes you a good author.I couldn't help but wonder as I read this if it had been edite...
