A sweeping retelling of the story of Scheherazade. I liked the characters and the scale of the story. Occasionally I found the prose a little clunky or overblown, but in general this was a fast paced, exciting read.

A sumptuous and epically told love story inspired by A Thousand and One Nights Every dawn brings horror to a different family in a land ruled by a killer. Khalid, the eighteen-year-old Caliph of Khorasan, takes a new bride each night only to have her executed at sunrise. So it is a suspicious surp...

4.5 starsThis book is full of angst, has somewhat of a love triangle, and a love story you feel down to your toes. I was not a big fan of the ending.

This book is like all of my guiltiest pleasures in one book. Well, my adoration of the story of A Thousand Nights isn't guilty, but man if I wasn't feeling like a swooning fool by the last several chapters of a book, my pants are ablaze with the fire of a billion lies. The adaptation of the stories ...

MaryAnn's Review: This book, this book, this book! I loved this book so much. From the very first few pages to the very end, I was swept up in the amazing world and story created by Renee Ahdieh. It was impossible not to fall in love with all the characters, especially the “monster” boy-king Khalid....

The King of Kings, marries and murders his wives at dawn. A vengevful beauty with a silver tongue and an agenda. And a twisted tale with a curse, a love triangle for the ages and redemption of a soul. This book was amazing. I love the eastern flair and enjoyed the stories within the stories. I ca...

3.5 - 4.5 stars - I don't KNOW!This book! First it was MEH - Shahrzad's stories just didn't hold my attention, and if I had been Khalid, they wouldn't have saved her from her terrible fate at dawn. But then after the scene at the souk, and I couldn't put it down. There's action and mystery and eve...

*An ARC was provided by Razorbill Canada in exchange for an honest review.*The Wrath & The Dawn is one of those books I just knew I had to read the moment I read the blurb. Even though I haven't actually read the story that inspired it, A Thousand and One Nights, I'm familiar with the tale, so I was...
