Not quite 4 stars, but better than 3 stars so I will give it my unofficial rating of 3.5 stars. Then Came You is a book that I started to listen to several years ago and was just not interested in Lily, the main character. She seemed selfish and attention seeking and I was just not interested. I sh...
This was great! Lily and Alex were easy characters to fall in love with. Spicy and full of life (well at least on Lily's end) The humor Ms. Kleypas gives us is great. I found myself laughing out loud, literally, several time. I look forward to reading/listening to more by her.
Loving, funny, and striking. I loved the main female character, Lily. She's daring and bold and willing to hold the world on her shoulders. Strong and incredibly frail she manages to spin you into the story. Alex, The male lead, doesn't fall far behind. Though at first downright sour, he becomes am...
I have mixed emotions on this one, but the overall feeling I get from this book is pleasant. At first I didn't like Miss Lily. She's bold to the point of, even I would be embarassed this day and age. Which definitely says some things. She's bold, doesn't give a fig, swears, gambles with the gentlemen ...
What a great story! I laughed and cried many times! Such wonderful writing and really engaging characters!! I love this authors work!!I am currently on a Regency kick and this one was terrific!!
4.5 StarsI noticed that there is a pattern with me and Lisa Kleypas' books. I don't sleep, I ignore my family, and don't even look up from my Nook when my favorite tv show is on. This is exactly how it was for me when I pushed myself to finish Then Came You in less than 12 hours (6 of these hours I ...
This book is set in the 1820s, so technically, it's not a Regency romance, because the Regent is now king. But close enough.Lily is definitely wild and reckless - but she's also the toast of the ton; well, the gentlemen of the ton, anyway, including His Royal Highness. Lily gambles, smokes, and hunt...
then came you by lisa kleypas, good book, a woman tries to stop her sister from marrying a man who she's reallyinterested in. can she plot to make it happen and live with the consequences. and there's a twist, something thathappened in the past resurfaces.
Everything about this book grated on me when I started reading it. Everything. Boring characters, kinda wacky plot and subplot, Derek Craven's accent... (It is with a sense of genuine dread that I pick up Dreaming of You; I can't take a whole book of written Mockney. I'm gonna give it the ol' colleg...
I'm usually a big Kleypas fan but I think this one was a bit too "old school romance" for my tastes. I really liked the beginning of the book, before Alex and Lily got together. I liked them both individually and was looking forward to their relationship. That's when it fell apart for me. The sex...
