After reading Scandalous Desires, I really was looking forward to this one (and like S.D., the epilogue sets up book 5). I wasn't disappointed. Winter was everything anyone could want in one of the main characters. Isabel was a good character too, even if I took a little longer to warm up to her.But...
It seems like that was a long time for me to read one of these. I liked Winter, I just didn't love him. Ditto on Isabel. I cannot say what was missing only that something was off for me here. Still, it's better than like 72% of the books I read, and even more, I can't wait to read the next EIGHT boo...
Winter Makepeace is the staid manager of an orphanage by day and works as the Ghost of St Giles during the night. Isobel Baroness Beckinhall has a combative relationship with him but she finds herself attracted to the Ghost and then to him and eventually they find a way to have a good relationship.
"Has anyone cherished you just for yourself?" I wasn't highly anticipating this couple but they showed me and had some great heat between them. Our hero Winter is the epitome of still waters run deep. His and Isabel's back and forth, especially in regards to their sexual innuendos, had some spine ti...
Winter Makepeace has a secret; by day he is a stiff, no none sense, never smile, all too serious manager of the home. By night he is the witty, fluid, daredevil and a vigilante named the Ghost of St. Giles. He has forsaken all happiness, no marriage, no family, no life outside the two roles he plays...
This is the first book I've ever read by Elizabeth Hoyt. I wasn't thrilled by Thief of Shadows but I wasn't disappointed either, it just wasn't the type of story I was expecting it to be. Regardless, it turned out to be a solid story line with likable and believable characters. Winter is such a like...
I liked the fact that the man was inexperienced in this book. It doesn't often happen in romance books. A solid entry in a series that started out shaky for me.
this was fun. I think it's the first Elizabeth Hoyt book I've read and I decided to try it after I met her at RT-she was absolutely wonderful, so I had to try the book. Now I must read more. :)
I love this series but something was lacking for me. I can't put my finger on it. I absolutely adore Winter but Isabel took linger for me to like. I hate that Winter's family was gone for the bulk of this book. It was weird.
Winter Makepeace is a hard man, while he loves his sisters and is very happy for them he is also quite isolated. He lives with this idea that he has to hold himself in rigid control because he believes that is how he should be and as his father would want him to be. The other reason is that Winter i...
