3.5 - 4 stars. Another fast-paced round of jokes, suspense, and twisted romance. There's a really obvious mystery that kind of annoyed me, but a very painful ending that scored high on my angst-o-meter. Warning for the squeamish -- some really bad stuff goes down, somewhat graphically.

This one was not my favorite of the series, but still scores a solid 4.5 rating which is saying something. We still get all of the usual Darynda Jones humor but with more of an edge.
