The chances are you’re not a hundred percent happy with what you’re doing and you want either a complete change of direction or a change of career scene. I know how you feel as I have coached numerous clients who need a career change but don’t know where to start.
This book will help you in two important ways. Firstly, it will help you in getting into the right career – one that fits you because you’ve dug deep and found out what your values, motivations, and strengths really are. By working your way through the initial career change exercises, you will quickly start to understand what environment, culture, and type of work really suits you at a deeper level. Secondly, this book will give you the job interview techniques required to make sure you truly showcase your talents so that your prospective employer wants to hire you.
As the book’s title suggests, you work your way through nine practical steps which involve some fun exercises to help create purpose, motivation and clarity. You’ll also learn how to sell and package yourself to best effect. Each of the nine steps have been based on my experience as a recruitment consultant, career coach and knowledge of psychology. I was conscious of keeping the book reasonably concise, while at the same time ensuring the reader had the necessary tools to enable a successful transition to take place. Packed with confidence boosting techniques and advice, the book consists of the following chapters:
1. Discover what you were born to do
2. Assess your true values – what’s in our hearts really matters
3. Finding your inspiration trigger
4. Career review and planning
5. Choosing your new career
6. Letters and resumes that showcase your talent
7. Preparation is the key to success
8. Job interview questions
9. Dress to impress
By working your way through each step you embark upon a passage of self-discovery and the answers you seek become tangible. I look forward to accompanying you on the journey and working as your virtual career change coach.
