Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas!
I wanted this section because of Kansas and Nebraska. However, the first book I selected is set in Kentucky.
I chose the book because of the author, Anna Hess, who has written several non-fictions on the subject of 'moving back to, and living off of, the land.' This is her first fiction and I liked the sample, so . . . , we'll see how it goes.
Watermelon Summer, Anna Hess.
I know what you mean about getting "off track"! But that's part of the fun, right?

That author looks interesting! Have you read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver?
I know. I always want to turn off the highway, and take the mysterious meandering track that curves around the corner and leads to . . . who knows where.

And no, I haven't. She's been kind of on my radar because Poisonwood Bible has been on my wishlist forever. After just now looking her up on Amazon, though, I can see she is going to have to be moving up on my list, and adding a few titles as well. Thx
I read The Fault in Our Stars - set in Indiana.
