Hello all! Here is my general info:

I'm Christina, I post at the Book Lantern as well: http://www.thebooklantern.co.uk/

What I read: Experimental fiction, horror, YA, humor, some nonfiction - those are my favorites. As long as it interests me, I'll read it.

Strong points: Grammar, spelling, spotting prose that flows and doesn't jolt the reader out of the story. Also it takes a lot for me to give a damn about characters, so if your story is dull and the pacing is slow, I will let you know (politely).

What I write: Pretty much everything. I have a ton of WIPs. It's maddening.

Graphics: I do some graphics for fun. I might be able to make you a cover, but keep in mind I'm not a professional. Also I'd be doing it for free and since this isn't my career (right now, anyway), I won't be able to provide the kind of dedication that a paid professional can. Note: I can manipulate graphics, but not create them, so if you want me to do a cover, you'd need to have images on hand for me to use.

Important message: I am not taking on any beta projects until sometime next year.
Hello! I go by the handle Mirkat both here and on Goodreads. I read literary fiction, speculative fiction, YA, memoir, mysteries, humor, graphic novels, books about running, and others I am not thinking of at the moment.

I have a Ph.D. in English and have taught composition and lit at the college level. Although I am not in academe anymore, I do have occasion to proof and edit documents on a fairly regular basis. I will read your MS in a very picky, albeit loving way to help you avoid errors and make sure your prose flows.

I write fiction, poetry, and drama, as well as doing a webcomic (on and off).

Currently, I have way too many books on my "currently reading" list, and since I am planning to do NaNoWriMo, I will probably need to wait until December before I can give a beta project the attention it deserves. :)
Hi, hi! I'm Rose, and maintain Writing Through Rose-Tinted Glasses, which is hosted here: rosepetals1984.wordpress.com

I'm a reader of a lot of different genres, but most frequently pick up Young Adult, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Mystery/Suspense, Thriller, Horror, and Romance (Contemporary and Historical). I also read a lot of Non-Fiction. I'm pretty open minded to try genres outside of that as well, as long as the story draws me in. =)

As a writer, My mainstay genres are YA (all divisions) and Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Urban Fantasy, but I tend to bounce between a lot of genres depending on what I'm inspired by. I'm currently working between three WIPs - a New Adult contemporary romance that takes on an issue I don't think anyone's dared to do (yet, but it's something that's not talked about/double standard), a YA cyberpunk novel, and a YA Argentinian dystopian novel.

The YA cyberpunk novel should be ready in probably a few weeks (I'm hoping). I do have two completed YA projects up for beta read in the scheme of YA urban fantasy/romance that's an interpretation of teen versions of nursery rhymes. ("G.P. Kisses the Girls" and "Miss Muffet's Tuffet Versus the Spider"), but they were written several years back. I could always use a fresh pair of eyes for those projects because I plan to revamp them, but if you're interested, just let me know.

I'm not planning to do NaNoWriMo this year, since I'm working finishing this YA cyberpunk novel, but I think I will be available for beta reading anyone's projects starting mid-November/December.
Hey, I'm Sara from Bookstore Without Borders. I'm looking for a beta for my mystery/suspense PI story called Mob Girls Don't Cry.
I would happily beta mystery/suspense, steam punk or YA, but only until the end of December as I'm coordinating a huge Indie Novel contest (the Lyra Contest) from Jan-March and my brain will be fried/explode at that point.
I'm planning on starting NaNo in 2 days, and am starting to panic. lol.
Sara, if you are still looking for a beta reader, I'd like to give it a shot. Tell me what you need to know about me in order to make a decision.

Teresa

The Alpha and the Omega: An absurd philosophical tale about God, the end of the world, and what’s on the other planets.

Monday, March 30, 2015 begins like any other day for Zack, a devout atheist with a profitable appointment as an equity fund manager at a top Wall Street firm. He squeezes into the last seat on the subway car and does not say anything to the man sitting next to him selfishly hogging all the space. He grabs a coffee at his favorite newsstand and heads to his office. And later, his eyes wander to the photo of his dead parents on the corner of his desk.

However, a few minutes after the closing bell, a most unusual thing happens. The true and living God of Heaven and Earth walks into Zack’s office and declares that he is real, that he is ending the world and turning Earth into the new Heaven, and that Zack may stay, despite his atheism, because he was a good person.

Once Zack gets his bearings in the stunning dreamscape that is God’s new kingdom on Earth, God introduces him to Lilly, a headstrong former-lawyer for the poor who also once worshipped at the church of the faithless. Together, they explore paradise’s many wonders large and small, such as telepathy, the cloud cities, and never needing to use a bathroom. In this, they find a measure of happiness. However, not everything is as it seems, as it may turn out that God has a reason for not revealing what he keeps on the other planets … and there just might be more than one deity in the universe.

The Alpha and the Omega is a satiric, post-apocalyptic love story. It’s an absurd philosophical tale. It’s a James Cameron-style, Hollywood-blockbuster, sci-fi/action movie waiting to be made. And it will answer all of your deepest questions about the meaning of life and will reveal all of the universe’s wildest, most incredible secrets. I promise.

Hi, I'm Maya. I go by between4walls both here and on livejournal. I want to be an editor and am looking to get experience by beta-ing. I've been an editor for ideomancer.com and for the "Mark Reads Harry Potter" books, and a beta reader for a couple of books that are being published by Tor soon.

I read: fantasy, sf, realisitic/literary fiction, YA, historical fiction. Occasionally a mystery or a romance if it's interesting. No horror.

What I do- Copyediting (grammar, spelling, sentence structure, flow). Characters- are they interesting, could they be more complex? Pacing- where does the story lag? And structure. I love structure.

I can do novels, short stories, and poetry, but can't help much with drama or screenplays.
Need help?
