Ok np! Kobo has a 50% sale going on. I think it ends today or maybe yesterday but The Darkest Minds is included in the sale so the book price is $4.55 instead of $8.50 if anyone is interested. I started it and I've read through Chapter 7. I'm really liking it so far. This is the first book I've read by Bracken and I like her style.

Ive been so behind! but i will try and get through a majority this weekend. Ive read a couple of chapters and its good so far

I finished it yesterday. I liked it, especially the second half and the end! Be prepared for the ending though. It left me seriously speechless. My favorite characters are Chubs, Liam & Zu. I didn't care for Ruby that much. : ) Anyways, I'm going to start Never Fade shortly. I hope you guys are enjoying it!

I finished it too! and that ending did leave me speechless well with some yelling too ha ha ha ha.I have to agree with Hooked on books on the favorite characters. I loved the trio's interactions with each other. I had a few questions:

1) I'm still a little foggy on what each color stands for. Ruby kinda explains it at the start and through out the book.

2) Also if kids are dying and they are carting all the others to camp whats happening to the population?

3) I have to say Ruby's ability is a double edge sword.......It would suck but be helpful in a way

Hi Paper Soul, I didn't realize you posted. I must have overlooked a notification but yeah that was a killer ending! I felt the same way. I haven't read an ending that effected me like that in a while. As to your questions...
1) Regarding the colors- I think...
Green is the weakest and = photographic memory & they can't be mind controlled
Blue = telekinesis /moving objects with mind
Yellow= if they touch something they have some type of electrical ability. That's why Zu wore gloves all the time
Oranges are one of the strongest and = they can read, control and erase people's minds, thoughts and memories; and create illusions
Reds are strongest= can blow stuff up and can control fire

2) I'm not sure the parents or camp leaders have even thought that far ahead. It seems like they just want to be rid of the kids no matter what the consequences.

3) Yeah Ruby's ability would make it very awkward to have contact with people especially a boyfriend. : ) Maybe if you could control it really well like Clancy it wouldn't be too bad.

I hope you guys enjoyed the book! I haven't started Never Fade yet. I'll hopefully start it in the next week or two.

*Are we going to do a March group read? If so, we probably should go ahead and post our top picks...
